Ozone Generators
Ozone generators are devices that are used to create ozone. Ozone is a form of oxygen that may be used to purify air or water. Some air cleaners are also ozone generators, the best known example of which is an ion air cleaner.
Ozone generators create ozone through one of three methods. These methods are: corona discharge, ultraviolet or UV light, and cold plasma. Most home ozone generators and commercial home ozone generators use the corona discharge method to generate ozone. This method is generally inexpensive to use, which accounts in large part for its popularity. The Osmonics ozone generator is an example of a unit designed for commercial use, and there are many brands that also offer home ozone generators for sale. Many units have a built-in sensor to cut off the ozone generator power supply if the feed gas is shut off or fails.

Many homeowners are interested in ozone generators for spa treatment. The major benefits of ozone generators for spas are that they purify the spa water quicker than chemicals and reduce the amount of chemicals needed for the spa. The reduction in the amount of chemicals used also means your spa water will be more comfortable, and you will save money in the long run by purchasing fewer chemicals. Ozone will not stay in the water after treatment, however, so you will still to use some chemicals for proper and complete sanitation. Ozone generators may also be used to clean the water in koi ponds. A good example of a water ozone generator is the Freshwater ozone generators.
Ozone generator plans are readily available online. However, homemade ozone generators should never be considered as a good idea. One reason is that it is illegal in the United States of America to sell home made ozone generators-only units given the approval of the FTC or Federal Trade Commission, may be sold. The most important reason to avoid amateur ozone generators manufacturing, whether someone else does it or you do it yourself, is safety. Ozone generator chemistry is tricky at best, even for an expert, and you may end up with a unit that could set your home on fire, causing property damage or even loss of life. Ozone is also a toxic substance in and of itself. The small amount of money you may save by building ozone generators yourself is not worth the risk to your property, yourself, and those around you.
